My IN PERSON GUITAR LESSONS are available in the Greater Cairns area, either for one-on-one or group bookings for SCHOOLS, OSHC GROUPS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, etc.

My ONLINE GUITAR LESSONS are available anywhere you are comfortable, with the EXTRA BONUS of me having access to more guitars, effects and musical tools.

My guitar lessons are personalised to your level and interest, even if you’ve been playing for decades, and are looking for new ways to express yourself on the instrument.

My SONGWRITING WORKSHOPS are for all ages and will teach you how to play along with drums and other instruments, explore various styles, allowing you to learn how to express yourself, but most of all have fun!!

A MAJOR COMPONENT of the SONGWRITING WORKSHOPS is writing songs on the spot; I play the music and the participants provide the lyrics. This has been very beneficial for kids who are dealing wih traumatic events such as bushfires, lockdowns and personal events. It is a great release for all ages to express themselves and unburden themselves from thoughts and feelings that may be lingering and provides a path to move forward.

MAGIC WORKSHOPS are aimed at anyone with a sense of fun, curiosity, storytelling & amusement.

MAGIC is a great art to be involved in as it helps build confidence and alleviate anxiety with public speaking and talking to strangers,

develops listening and attention skills,

is great for mental health and using a different part of the brain to focus with,

teaches the practice/reward principle very simply,

helps in understanding psychology,

is great for storytelling and comprehension skills…. but most importantly it builds the part of the brain we need the most, the imagination!!!

A QUICK WORD ABOUT MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching guitar for nearly 30 years and still love it when someone is excited about delving into the magical world of music.

I have seen the power of music see people through hard times, depression, PTSD, anxiety and other adverse situations we find ourselves thrown into.

In the past I have taught guitar to people with clinical depression who hadn’t spoken to anyone in a year,

an autistic teenager who others said wouldn’t learn, and who absolutely loved his lessons every week and had a fantastic sense of humour,

and a gentleman who had learning difficulties he received from a work accident.

I have also run an early school leavers program through Penrith Council and worked at NSW Juvenile Justice as a Youth Officer.
