MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Hi there, my name is Jason Ward, or J, or Jase, or Wardy. You get the idea.

I have been teaching guitar for nearly 30 years and still love it when someone is excited about delving into the magical world of music, or watches a close up magic performance. I am based in beautiful Cairns, Australia.

I have seen the power of music see people through hard times, depression, PTSD, anxiety and other adverse situations we find ourselves in.

In the past I have taught guitar to a young man with clinical depression who hadn’t spoken to anyone in a year;

an autistic teenager who others said wouldn’t learn, and who absolutely loved his lessons every week and had a beautiful sense of humour;

and a gentleman who had learning difficulties he received from a work accident.

I have worked at NSW Juvenile Justice as a Youth Officer, conducted supervised visits on behalf of FACS NSW, worked in Out Of Home Care for juveniles and have also run an early school leavers program through Penrith City Council.

I have performed magic for fifteen years for all ages from birthday parties to get togethers and including Make A Wish events.

I currently hold a Queensland issued Working With Children/Blue Card. Number available upon booking request.
